What the heck is that?

Kindergarteners: Sparky the dog lived on a farm.  So did Edward, the rooster.  One day, while Sparky was outside in the yard, he heard a "cock-a-doodle-do!" from Edward.  So he ran as fast as he could to see what the strange noise was.  He saw it was Edward.
"Hi, my name is Sparky, what's your name?" Sparky asked.
"My name is Edward," Edward said.
"Do you want to be my friend?" Sparky asked.
"Oh yes I do want to be your friend!" Edward exclaimed.
After that, the two of them spent all of their time together.  They would go and play in the barn, and when they got tired, they laid down to take a nap.  The two of them spent so much time together that they blended together!

Grandparents: Grandma, Grandpa, I have a horrible story to tell you.  I was taking a stroll down through my neighborhood, and I come to this corner.  There, I find a dog and a rooster.  The dog and the rooster were both trying to get across the street.  Before I could make a move to rescue them, a car come zooming out of nowhere.  Obviously, the person in the car was a careless driver, so he didn't see the dog or the rooster... so he hit them both.  I was so sure that both of them were not going to survive.  But when I looked back, I saw the most astonishing thing.  It seemed as though the dog and the rooster had blended as one.  It looked like a normal dog, but with a rooster's head.  I took it home with me, and I hope I can keep it.

First of all I really enjoy your picture. Good choice!! In your description to the kids you used good word choice. Made it almost seem like a fairy tale kinda deal. the story was good for kids it was simple and easy to follow. Then the one with the grandparents was quality. Def a story to tell the grandparents, they would enjoy that. it was funny and a very likely situation. maybe throw a quote or two into the grandparents one. good job!

I thought that your picutre was very funny and strange. It was a good picture to choose to write on. I especially liked the story for the kindergarteners, because as a kindergaretner you would believe it was just two friends that got so close that they blended. Yet, if an adult was reading it they would get the true meaning. I also liked that the story for the kindergarteners was simple and easy to follow. It had good dialouge in it as well. I thought the grandparent story was a little bit weird. I didn't really understand how they got hit by a car and blended together. I would probably add some more detail to explain how this happened and why.
